Perfect white rice can be achieved with a few tried and true techniques.

How basic is white rice? Pretty simple right? Rice, salt and water. Yet, getting this dish perfect every time seems to allude people. I’ve had this recipe written and posted as a side note, but I hear from so many people that their rice is always sticky, or burned or the worst case scenario, mushy. As I mention in my Mexican rice post, every type of rice has different needs. Some require more water, some need to be stirred, or just left alone. If you have a rice cooker and you know how to use it, great! If you buy a boxed rice that may be par-boiled because it’s easy and always comes out the same…I’m talking to you! Read the recipe and accept my challenge. Make a batch of my white rice and if you are not convinced of it’s deliciousness, you can go back to the boxed brand. No questions asked. Good luck!
